Karachi: Pakistan Navy operates to defend 1046 kilometers of coastline of Arabian Sea and diesel-electric submarines is a big threat for India. The inclusion of controlled missiles in these submarines is a big achievement for Pakistan Navy and no sonar system can detect these submarines at all. The submarines is a joint program of Pakistan and China which involves latest technologies and warhead. Pakistan strengthens its Navy by updating its ships and submarines with modern equipment and weapons and since 2001 Pakistan is spending extensively on its up-gradation. Many contracts have been done with different countries to purchase modern battleships. After the failure of contract with Germany, France approached to sell its submarine to Pakistan. But the government of Pakistan decided to purchase a fleet of diesel-electric submarine from China. The inclusion of latest submarines equipped with AIP threatens India a lot and now they are too looking to purchase these kinds of submarines from France. Pakistan Navy is also working on upgrading its battleships with the help of China and successful test of ballistic missiles through submarines is a great inclusion. Not only India stuns from these torpedo but its a big threat for Israel as well. Question arises here why Pakistan is strengthening its Navy and why spending extensively to upgrade its battleships and submarines. To find out the answer you need to revisit the war of 1971 between India and Pakistan where Indian Navy blocked Karachi Port. In that sensitive situation Pakistani submarine force sank the whole India frigate. The experience of 1971 war forced Pakistan to spend extensively on its Navy.
